Ibrahim demir born in İzmir, Turkey in 1980 who has been passionate for art since early age of eight, which drove him to earn his bachelor’s degree as Professor of Art from Dokuz Eylul Buca Egitim Fakultesi University in 2004. He has mastered the age-old techniques of engravings and calligraphy, yet has kept in touch with current trends such as digital art, as well as plastic arts and artistic drawings. He arrived in Bogotá, Colombia in 2009. Essence is non-changing. Ibrahim Demir’s art is persuasive, bold, intense and versatile. His work is inspired by the philosophical streams and uses human form as a language. Sculptures, ex-libris, drawings, engravings, paintings are his canvas where his life and thought are expressed in detail, digging into the depth of the observer’s soul. Both classical and modern techniques as well as architectural and organic forms can be seen throughout his works. Architecture usually symbolizes the inner world, while anatomy represents the outer world. Smooth yet bold and lineal traces jump to sight and are common in his style, which draw its essence from natural phenomena and human behavior, thus the strong and firm figures in small and large sized pieces.
